June 2010 - The National Law Journal named Arnold & Porter antitrust partner Deborah Feinstein one of "Washington's Most Influential Women Lawyers" in its June 28, 2010 issue. Of the 33 selected women, The National Law Journal wrote, "In a profession still dominated by men, these power players have taken a sledgehammer to the glass ceiling to grab their place among the elite of the Washington bar. We are recognizing their work, their influence and the fact that they may have had to work a bit harder than many of their male colleagues to get where they are today."
Ms. Feinstein focuses on merger and acquisition matters before the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and US Department of Justice (DOJ). Ms. Feinstein was singled out for her track record of winning antitrust approval of megadeals, including recently winning FTC approval for Pepsi's $7.8 billion acquisition of two bottlers. The National Law Journal highlighted her current work representing General Electric in the $30 billion Comcast-NBC Universal joint venture pending before the Justice Department and her representation of Air Products and Chemicals Inc. in its $5.1 billion hostile takeover bid for Airgas Inc. In the article, Ms. Feinstein said, "When you do merger work, you're always doing what the company is most excited about. You feel you're building something."
